ABOUT KNAPTON ...

The village of Knapton is situated in North Norfolk, approximately 20 miles north east of Norwich. It is a quiet village, but within 2 miles we have a sandy beach, the holiday resorts of Cromer and Mundesley, the Bittern Line (running a regular train service between Sheringham and Norwich), the market town of North Walsham, swimming pools, fitness centres, bowls clubs, libraries, post offices, hotels, cafes, and public houses. Knapton on the map.

Knapton is on relatively high ground, around 40 metres above mean sea level. (The highest elevation in Norfolk is near Beeston Hill at 105 metres). Surrounded by attractive open countryside and boasting an excellent community woodland, Pigneys Wood , there are plenty of activities open to those appreciating the countryside

"Knapton News" is the name of our village newsletter. It has been running for a year now, and is proving to be a very useful tool for residents and visitors to the village. It is produced by a small team of volunteers. Funding for the first year's production was provided by our Parish Council. The funding for our second is being provided by the Bacton Gas site operators. You can view copies of the current and previous issues:
